Is Jennylyn the new primetime queen?
After winning the first season of the reality competition, Starstruck, there was no way to stop Jennylyn Mercado into reaching her inevitable stardom. She has bloomed from a teenage starlet into a full-pledged and bankable singer-actress.
She stood out among the rest with her lovely singing voice, beautiful face and of course her appalling sexiness which earned her the title of FHM PH Sexiest Woman of 2015. Although, she became a mother at an early age, this did not hinder her from amassing numerous endorsements, teleseryes and movies.

In 2005, she topbilled a movie with her co-Starstruck alumna and real life boyfriend that time, Mark Herras titled "Say That You Love me". This paved way for her to star in different movies from different genre. But it was in 2015 that she starred in a critically acclaimed and top grossing romantic comedy movie titled "English Only, Please". This film made its mark and showcased the young actress' penchant for romcom movies. It was followed by "Prenup", "Walang Forever" and "Just The Three of Us". The success and popularity of these movies have proven that she is indeed the Philippines "RomCom Queen".
This year, she was slated to star in an adaptation of one of the most popular Korean TV Series of all time, "My Love From Another Star". She plays the leading role as Steffi and she gave Jun Ji Hyun (the Korean Superstar who played the role in the original series) a run for her money with her version. Again, she displayed her acting prowess where she made the viewers cry and laugh at the same time. It was actually a spectacle to see her do such.
The pilot episode of the series rated at 11% by AGB NUTAM and beat its contender from her GMA's rival network.
And now we ask ourselves, will Jennylyn start making these type of tv series again and again? Will she be the next primetime queen?
